Nastasha Pedjase /Backs
I was born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario Canada. I began playing rugby in 11th grade. Moving onto University of Waterloo I began to take rugby much more seriously, competing with my local club team. In college I was the seventh leading point scorer in the province for two consecutive years, in part, due to my ability to kick for points. My club team won provincial championships my last two years with them. My last summer in Canada I was fortunate enough to be selected to represent our provincial team, winning the national championship. Upon moving to the states, my husband and I settled in Los Gatos, California to be near family. I competed with the Life West Gladiatrix, winning a national championship. I also was selected to play with the Nor Cal state team, just two weeks after having my first kiddo. We were blessed to relocate one last time in Texas, where I spent some time playing with the Houston Athletic Rugby Club (sHARCS). Just prior to COVID I competed representing the Texas team, where we also came out on top, winning a national championship title. While residing in Canada I began coaching high school and u18 rugby for four years beginning in 2010. Each year we were provincial champs. My love for coaching has a big part to play in why I became a teacher. I work just down the road at Oak Hills JH - Go Lions! Upon settling in Montgomery, I have regained the rugby-bug and am happy to now be a part of the Texas Thunder team working along with Coach Charles, and Cianna. I am so blessed to have an amazing husband, Alex, who also played rugby for our university. Winning multiple provincial championships himself, while also representing our provincial team. He also played for the Life West Gladiators, earning national championships, while simultaneously competing with the Nor Cal State team, again, coming out on top. Finally, he also played for HARC prior to COVID, always captaining each of the teams he has competed for. We have four amazing kids together - Katja, Christian, Lukas, and Sloane, who are the most fun and greatest joys of our lives.
